Flying West Coast shelter dogs to East Coast homes
Project Flying Chihuahuas is a Los Angeles based rescue, helmed by Laurel Kinder.
Our mission is to save chihuahuas from over-crowded, high kill Los Angeles shelters and find them homes in areas that have high demand, but low supply of small dogs.
Project Flying Chihuahuas is a non profit 501-c-3 rescue organization.
DONATEEvery week a group of volunteers meets at East Valley Shelter in Van Nuys, CA (just over the hill from Hollywood and Beverly Hills) to rescue, bathe, vet, cage and care for that weeks lucky survivors.
They are then flown, with great care, to trusted, no-kill humane societies and rescue groups on the east coast of the USA who have a network of homes hoping to adopt a small dog. PFC follows the journey of every dog to make sure that they are safe, happy and cared for in their new town.
Join us at one of our FLYOUTSEvery volunteer equals a saved dog. The more volunteers who come equals the more chihuahuas that will make it out alive. (Bring a friend).
You do not have to be an official LAAS Volunteer to help. ALL are welcome!!! We would LOVE to have your help. Come for as long as you like. (You do not have to stay the entire time).
